Dr Emma Katz, the world’s leading academic expert on how coercive control harms children and mother-child relationships, and how these harms can be overcome.
Dr Katz is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology whose work has influenced legislation and professional practice in the UK and globally.
Her book Coercive Control in Children’s and Mothers’ Lives is influential and acclaimed, as is her expert academic blog Decoding Coercive Control with Dr Emma Katz which is read by thousands of subscribers around the world.

- To raise awareness among front line staff and practitioners on how abusers can misuse technology.

It will cover a wide range of technology that can be misused by perpetrators, although it is not an exhaustive list.

Session Outline:
Luke is a survivor of childhood domestic abuse and will be telling his story of the abuse that he and his mum suffered at the hands of his birth father. Luke will be discussing the impact this abuse had on him as a child and the effects this has also had on him as an adult. Luke will be talking about how he still has to implement safety planning as a result of ongoing stalking as well as discussing his role as a peer mentor, mental health first aider and podcaster.
