Resources from the SETDAB Lecture Series: Child-to-Parent Abuse Awareness with PEGS

Thank you to everyone who attended the recent SETDAB Lecture on Child-to-Parent Abuse (CPA) with PEGS (Parental Education Growth Support), which took place on 21 September 2026.

Child-to-Parent Abuse (CPA) remains a hidden and often misunderstood form of abuse, making awareness, understanding and effective support essential for practitioners working with children, young people, adults and families. CPA can have a significant emotional, physical, psychological and financial impact on parents, carers and other family members, often leaving those affected feeling isolated, ashamed or unsure where to seek help. By increasing knowledge of the signs, risk factors and complexities associated with CPA, practitioners can play a vital role in identifying concerns early, providing appropriate support and helping families access specialist services.
