Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs)

A MARAC is a multi-agency meeting which domestic abuse victims who have been identified as at high risk of serious harm or homicide are referred to for agencies to work together to identify safeguarding opportunities.  MARACs are in operation across Southend, Essex and Thurrock.

Visit our MARAC pages to find out more about MARAC, our local processes and to download our referral form.

Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews (DARDRs)

A Domestic Abuse Related Death Review (DARDR) previously known as a Domestic Homicide Review (DHR) is a review into the circumstances around a death of someone following domestic abuse.  The purpose is to establish what can be learned from the death regarding the way in which local professionals and organisations work individually and together to safeguard victims.   This can include cases of suicide where the circumstances give rise to concern. For example, it emerges that there was coercive controlling behaviour in the relationship.

An important part of the SETDAB Champion role is to ensure learning from DARDRs are cascaded and embedded throughout organisations. For more information including thematic briefings please click here.

All of the published DARDRs for Southend, Essex and Thurrock are available here: SET Published DARDRs
