Teen Talk Harwich

Teen Talk offers a free and confidential information and support service to young people aged 11-25 years old that allows young people to self-refer, has no time restrictions and where no appointment is necessary. Referrals can also be accepted by parents/carers, schools and other agencies. We are an early intervention service that supports young people with any issue they are facing including domestic violence. We have supported people who have been a victims of domestic violence as well as having witnessed domestic violence within family relationships. If a young person requires specialist support then we are able to refer out to external agencies for this.

We aim to provide a comfortable and safe environment where a young person feels able to express their worries.

Support is offered on a one-to-one basis where a young person can explore any difficulties they are facing and by using the person centred approach we enable a young person to develop strategies to help themselves.

Through support we aim to improve the young person’s emotional wellbeing as well as empower them to manage their difficulties in a positive manner.

As well as one-to-one support we provide various activities for young people to become involved with including cookery workshops, youth forum, wildlife project and a coffee club.

We also deliver a coffee morning for parents and carers to access if they have concerns about a young person within our age range. This can be a supportive way for parents/carers to discuss issues they may have experienced and that may be having an impact on their children. There is also a chance during this coffee morning for the parent/carer to have a one-to-one consultation with a support worker.
