Full Circle (delivered by Phoenix Futures)

Essex Full Circle Community Service

The Full Circle is commissioned to work with offenders with complex and additional needs across the whole of Essex (excluding Thurrock & Southend unitary authorities).

The complex and additional needs we work with include:

  • Substance misuse
  • Mental health
  • Learning disabilities
  • Or any other need that, if left unmet, is likely to increase the risk of reoffending.

Working with a wide range of partner agencies across the county, the Full Circle service supports service users to access the services they need to engage with to address their unmet needs. This includes:

  • Making onward referrals and signposting to services
  • Accompanying service users to appointments
  • Advocating on behalf of service users

Full Circle also deliver the Horizon Project in 7 areas across the county (Chelmsford, Basildon, Colchester, Tendring, Braintree, Epping and Castlepoint and Rochford). The project provides intensive support to a small cohort of individuals in each area impacted by significant multiple disadvantage (homelessness, offending and substance misuse). Adopting a multi-agency approach to Full Circle work to:

  • Assertively engage the cohort through outreach and regular, consistent contact
  • Offer long-term and unwavering support and advocacy
  • Ensure a collaborative and creative approach between services to achieve the best possible outcomes for the individuals involved

Based on the same model, from 1st July 2020 Full Circle have been commissioned to deliver the Vulnerable Victims Pilot. Working alongside Adult Social Care and other key partners, a Full Circle practitioner provides intensive support to vulnerable victims in the Mid and North of the county who are either being exploited, or are identified as being at high risk of exploitation by gangs.

Full Circle also provide assessments for any Essex resident made subject to a Conditional Caution or Community Resolution in relation to their substance misuse. Full Circle staff provide relevant harm reduction advice and will ensure onward referrals to relevant substance misuse services where appropriate.

Full Circle have a Prison Link Worker and Mental Health Prison Link Worker who track service users across the prison system and work tirelessly to ensure that anyone who is in substance misuse and/or mental health treatment in custody continues to engage in community treatment if required.

If you wish to refer in to the service please complete a referral form or call Full Circle on 0808 1000 110 for more information.
