The Change Project is pleased to announce the introduction of the Change Hub in Essex and Southend to promote wellbeing through enabling people to have healthy relationships in families, between individuals and in the community. We work in a non-judgemental way with clients aged 16 and above who want to make positive changes in how they behave in relationships with others, regardless of gender, ethnicity or sexuality.

From the 1st April 2020, the Change Hub is available to residents in Essex and Southend, replacing the Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Outreach Service and Project Columbus. Following an assessment with a Domestic Violence Awareness Practitioner (DVAP), suitable clients will be offered an intervention matched to the level of risk and individual circumstances. Victims/partners can access our in-house Integrated Support Service to ensure that they are fully supported throughout our perpetrator interventions. We also offer advice and can signpost clients to agencies that may be able to provide additional support to make positive changes in their lives.

The Change Hub is a funded service. There is no cost to the client or agency making the referral.

If you would like more information about the Change Hub, please get in touch by contacting admin@thechangeportfolio.org.

How to refer to the Change Hub?

We welcome referrals from both statutory and non-statutory agencies, and MARAC. We also accept self-referrals.

Details of how to make a referral can be found on our website – https://www.thechange-project.org/.

Our response to Coronavirus

*Risk to victims and children may escalate over the coming months whilst the impact of current Pandemic affects every day life, especially during periods of self-isolation when the whole family may be expected to remain in the home for a minimum of 14 days. The Change Hub is committed to offering support to perpetrators throughout, however we will not offer face to face appointments for the foreseeable future. Instead, we will use safe and appropriate alternatives such as telephone/video-calling. We will work closely with DA support services to ensure that associated risks are identified and fully inform our contact decisions, and to monitor all work undertaken with perpetrators.
